40degrees celsius/ 40% humidity
26 postures/ 2 breathing exercises
Drink lots of water; 2.5 liters before, 1 liter during, 1.5 liters after class- I even freeze my water for class, to ensure it stays cold the whole time
Rehydrate with coconut water after class (to balance electrolytes)
Eat anything too heavy 2 hrs before class
Forget to listen to your body; only go as far into postures as your body will allow
Be discouraged if during the first few classes you find yourself lying on the mat for a large portion of the time; set your intention to simply stay in the room- anything beyond that is gravy!
Remember Bikram is a challenging form of yoga; but the detoxification and lymphatic draining benefits make it an excellent form of exercise for our bodies.
