Mixed Berry and Kale Pulp Smoothie

This was not the post I had planned for today; in fact, I was going to extol the virtues of fatty fish with a delicious recipe I made last week. The photos were edited, the post was finished; and then god said HA, as my hard drive died.

You see, I am where hard drives and most electronics go to die; or at least it would seem so, since this is my third, high priced hard drive, that has just up and died for no reason whatsoever. When the charming fellow at the Geek Squad informed me that it would be upwards of $1700 to fix my little predicament; I knew right then and there that I needed a smoothie.

Stress is killer; and yesterdays stress was next level. And, I don’t know about you, but sipping a cool and creamy kale smoothie has the power to calm even the most wound up of nerves- if even for a brief moment; and it should come as no surprise because kale is not only the new beef, but deliciously versatile as well.

Kale is darling number one of the health food scene; boasting antioxidants and fiber that have yet to be rivaled by another leafy green. And this emerald hued leaf is a great addition to any juice combination as it has the ability to supercharge almost anything it’s paired with; but, this begs the question, what about the pulp?

Just as a juice is an amazing way to ramp up any healthy living initiative, so are smoothies; and the beauty of smoothies is that the fiber content is retained, unlike with its juicy counterpart.

Kale pulp plays so well in this, and any, smoothie; as it infuses seamlessly, because the flavor is masked beautifully by all the other ingredients that make up what we know as the perfect summer sipper!

Now if you’ll excuse me, I must get back to rifling through months of old emails in my attempt to retrieve as much information as possible.
